Wow... this year is fast disappearing...
Although I have been away, the children are sharing their work and I am tracking progress. They are working well with Whaea Jo (she has been brilliant!) and they have shared some things on their blogs. I encourage you to encourage them to do this.
Over the last two terms they have worked really hard on their writing in particular and in developing fluency in reading and in maths, as well as problem-solving. They are currently reviewing learning and completing a NZ study (on various topics).
The class was fortunate to have the opportunity to see how a Mara Kai is constructed and we will hopefully be back at harvest time next year to see the fruit of their labour (again, thank you Whaea Jo and Mrs McLaren for ensuring they could have this opportunity). They have also been learning about gardening and weeds when working with Mr Brell! Next year we hope to develop their planning skills.
I was incredibly proud of the students and they way they rose to the Aquabots challenge without me - I know how much it takes to get everything done and I was so impressed with how much they achieved. And my sources tell me, they worked together brilliantly!
Camp is coming up fast, and an opportunity for the year 4 students to work with our younger students and practice their leadership skills.
Just a reminder, keep an eye out for notices! I will catch up with you all soon.
